Pine Cone South

Pine Cone South is located in Calgary’s southwest quadrant. The community is just south of the Bow River Valley Park on 8th Avenue S., which has been designated as a natural heritage area by Alberta Nature Conservancy. The neighborhood has some of the best schools in town: Pinecrest Elementary School (K-6), Cardinal Newman Catholic High School (7–12), and Sacred Heart Immaculata Catholic School (K-8).


Pineridge is a great place to live. The community has a great school system, and the parks and recreation centers are top-notch as well.

If you want your kids to make friends while they’re young, this could be an ideal neighborhood. There are plenty of places where kids can play outdoors safely thanks to the presence of community gardens, as well as some fantastic playgrounds in various locations throughout town (including one location that includes both an artificial turf field and a basketball court).

The area is also served by excellent schools (Mission Ridge Elementary School & Covenant Christian Junior High) as well as local shopping centers such as the Chinook Centre or Inglewood Mall, which offer excellent entertainment options such as cinemas and restaurants.

Sun Peaks Resort

Sun Peaks Resort is nestled at the base of Mt.
